I started taking tests three years ago, when I wasn't even close to graduating from high school. I was learning all about history from my high school course, and thought, "Why not get college credit for this?" And guess what? I took a 90 minute test (for about $100) and got three college credit hours--the equivalent of an entire semester spent studying Western Civ I! It is as simple as that.

I have not done any AP or SAT tests. This is my plan: CLEP and DANTES as much as possible, then apply at Thomas Edison State College (http://www.tesc.edu/) and finish up with online classes. Sound too good to be true? It's not :)

It's interesting that so few people know about the advantages of CLEP. I am seriously considering writing a short ebook on the subject, as well as a blog. What do you think?Abigail Rogershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10367841843553939505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3898466580265582744.post-50924314403210574092010-09-23T21:02:03.369-05:002010-09-23T21:02:03.369-05:00I haven't read the book, so I didn't read ...I haven't read the book, so I didn't read the review you posted, but I did have a question, somewhat related to education.

When did you start taking the CLEP tests? I know you've taken a lot - as you said, 2 years of college work. Have you done any AP or SAT Subject tests?

I'm homeschooled too, but I take my classes online. The school offers AP classes, so I'm taking 2 of those this year, and took a 1/2 credit one last year. I'm in my junior year, and just realizing all the tests! There's the PSAT, then the SAT, then the AP exams, and possibly some SAT subject tests too - depending on when/if I decide to take those.

I really love your blog, and how you're showing us its OK not to know what we're going to do after high school. I wrote a pretty lengthy comment about that on another one of your posts (sorry, I don't remember the name, but you'll see it).

~Liz B
http://lifeoflizb.blogspot.comLiz Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15816304907417708116noreply@blogger.com
