Tennessee, Here We Come...

Alright, the Rogers family is officially on vacation! I am sitting in a hotel room with Aaron's laptop, my hair wet from the indoor saltwater pool downstairs, tired out from a big day of sightseeing.

The picture above is of a 40, I kid you not 40 foot tall statue of Athena, a replica of what historians believe might have been in the original Parthenon in Athens, this one is in Nashville, TN. We spent about half an hour at this full-scale replica in concrete, a reconstruction of what the original Parthenon, now almost completely destroyed, might have looked like. It really was beautiful, especially the figures on the east and west pediments. Until you go there you really have no idea how huge this building really was, it didn't seem near so large when I was studying it for Humanities!

We also went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, mostly for Mom and Aaron, the country buffs in our family. Dad and I really don't care for that sort of thing, but enjoyed it anyway. It was huge, beautiful, and very informative.

So here we are on our second day out, thrilled to have this kind of opportunity, and looking forward to the days ahead.

Living High on the Horse,
Abby Rogers
